What does "I think, therefore I am" mean now that you have read Descartes' writings and explored his philisophical viewpoints in class?
"I think, therefore I am", is a statement that was made by Rene Descartes who was a French Pholisopher who was questioning/doubting his existence. He has doubted everything until it was proven correct. "I Think, Therefore I am", means that you can not doubt that something or someone exists. If you have ever wondered about something like " Am I dreaming, do I really exist?" means that you really do exist, your not dreaming, you are thinking. Thinking does not need a place or any material. He states that sometimes we can not trust our bodies only our minds, but sometime our minds may lie to us.
